Here are some of the cases we recently acted in:
- Clifton (Liquidator) v Kerry J Investment Pty Ltd trading as Clenergy [2020] FCAFC 5. We acted for Kerry J Investments Pty Ltd in its successful cross-appeal in the Federal Court of Australia in relation to the failure by liquidators to comply with discovery orders and a contentious technical legal issue regarding payment arrangements with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- We recently acted for the former directors of one of Australia's leading music retailers in their fight against a $15 million breach of directors' duties claim laid by a liquidator.
- We acted for a distributor of inverters used in home solar kits in its fight against a $23 million dollar claim by one of Australia's leading energy provider.
- We acted for the members of a family residing in different jurisdictions in relation to a shareholders dispute across a number of related entities that involved the interrelationship of a deceased estate, family companies, solvent companies in liquidation, and Supreme Court of Victoria proceeding.
